Wat Pah Santidhamma, The Forest Hermitage,
Fulbrook Lane, Lower Fulbrook, Warwickshire, CV35 8AS. View Larger Map
The Forest Hermitage is about 100 miles north-west of London, about 25 miles from Birmingham, 6½ miles from Stratford-upon-Avon and just 4½ miles from Warwick.
First of all, be warned, if you type our postcode into a SatNav and follow it blindly you may end up in a farmyard about half a mile from The Forest Hermitage. You must be careful near the end of your journey not to take the right turn for Castle Hill and Castle Farm. There is a finger signpost there which points you on to The Forest Hermitage.
At Junction 15 of the M40 take the A429 towards Cirencester, then first right for SHERBOURNE and into FULBROOK LANE. Stay in Fulbrook Lane, over a small bridge and past a farm – keep going – two sharp bends, past a large house on the right, a dip over the brook – this is where you must not turn right for Castle Hill and Castle Farm – and a little ascent to a rare view of the Avon. Then on the right, opposite Hampton Wood Nature Reserve, you will see set back from the road a terracotta coloured house amongst the trees. This is Wat Pah Santidhamma – The Forest Hermitage.
For our other property, Bhavana Dhamma, go further along the road, first left, then follow the lane round until you come to a track leading off to the left. There’s a sign for Wood Cottage (its more conventional name), go down the track and you’re there.
